McLean & Schultz: Structural Engineering & Architecture

The Ingram Paper Company headquarters facility and distribution center in the City of Industry contains a 460,000 square feet building and 350 parking spaces efficiently distributed on a 13.4 acre property.  The built-to-suit facility occupies warehousing, distribution, and office space constructed of tilt-up concrete panels.  Distribution, warehousing operations, and the general office facilities occupy the first floor.  Corporate offices and additional warehousing are on the second floor above the loading docks.

Ingram Paper required large floor areas and 40 foot ceiling clearances for the planned narrow aisle, high rack storage system.  To satisfy the automated narrow aisle, high rack storage system, the existing site conditions required extensive engineering of the foundations.  The self-guided fork lift units required extremely level concrete floors for optimum operation of the storage and retrieval system.
