McLean & Schultz: Structural Engineering & Architecture

Harbor Boulevard is a four span, cast-in-place box girder structure carrying originally three heavy rail tracks and later widened to accommodate a fourth track providing service to Metrolink traffic over a major arterial highway in downtown Fullerton. The columns are flared transversely creating the arch effect inherent in Spanish architecture. The recessed fascia of the superstructure forms arches along the profile of the structure adding to the Spanish theme requested by the City Council of Fullerton.
